Spring Stories. Part 2

Inbal Design's Story

I’m a jewellery designer and a graduate of the Department of Jewellery Design at the Shenkar Institute for Design in Israel (class of 2006). I love jewelry since I can remember. My favourite thing in my work as a jewelry designer is when I create a new design. The moment I hold the new finished piece in my hand that is one of the little things that make me absolutely happy. I draw my inspiration from shapes and textures in my surroundings. When I’m composing the elements of the jewellery, it creates an organic appearance which resembles natural shapes and structures. My collection is made of sterling silver, some of the items are coated with 18k gold, and set with semi-precious stones. I personally designs and produces all of the jewelleries in traditional silversmith techniques. The jewelleries combine classic motives, with an original and contemporary style. My collection consists of rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches and necklaces.

Aubepine's Story

My name is Jen and I live in sunny Los Angeles, CA with my husband, 2 1/2 year old son, and fluffy white American Eskimo dog. I have a background in biomedical engineering and am happily now a stay-at-home mom. I've always had a tendency towards crafty hobbies, and am a complete girly-girl. Making jewelry somehow seemed inevitable! I also like reading, sewing, anything gray (I love the color gray), fuyu persimmons, and purple eyeshadow. :) Though I've made jewelry off and on over the years, it was a trip to New York last year that inspired me to devote more time to it and open my Etsy shop. I love working with semi precious stones and creating something wearable and beautiful out of raw materials! My designs tend to be delicate, and I like to highlight the natural beauty of the gemstones themselves. Sometimes an idea comes to me late at night or at odd times, and I'm really antsy until I can sit down at my desk and work it out. Other times I'll rework something over and over! Not having a formal jewelry-making background, I just make what I love and hope that other people love it too!
