Adelo Creations Winter Memories and GiveAway

Please meet Maria from Adelo Creations and her lovely jewellery!

What is it about winter, that you like most?
Nice smells that are captured in the house and the urge to stay in and sit next to the fireplace with friends.

What was your favourite winter fun when you were a child?
Opening the window on snowy days to make the snowflakes fall on my hand and watch their wonderful shape fading slowly while melting.

What was your best Christmas present?
A Kaleidoscope: Magic in a Tube!

If you were to make a winter reading list, what books would you include?
Wuthering Heights is the first that crosses my mind.

What is your favourite music in winter?
Frank Sinatra, Jazz and Tango Music.

If you were to make a winter-film-list, which films would you put on it?
Love Actually, Little Ladies, Serendipity and the Holiday.

Could you share a recipe of one of your favourite winter dishes?
I love soups and I love mushrooms, so my favourite winter fish is “Creamy mushroom soup”!
Ingredients we need:
• 1 medium brown onion, thinly sliced (this is the official, in my opinion, onion is never too much, so I usually add two big onions)
• 500g mushrooms, thinly sliced
• 2 cups chicken or vegetable stock
• 1/2 cup low fat cream
• chopped fresh chives, to serve
• Olive oil (or butter), salt and pepper
Cooking:
Put the olive oil and when it is hot, add the onion (s). Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until softened. Then add the mushrooms. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes or until softened. Then add the stock and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium. Simmer for 10 minutes or until mushroom is soft and liquid has reduced slightly. Blend soup, in batches, until smooth.
Return soup to pan. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste and add the low fat cream. Reduce heat to low. Cook for 5 minutes or until warmed through.

Put into bowls. Top with freshly chopped chives. Incredible aromas.
Serve with pride!

What is you favourite DIY winter project?
Last year when I realized that there was no room for a Christmas tree, due to living room renovation, I glued tiny magnets on the back side of Christmas balls of different sizes and colours and put them on my double door fridge. They looked like they were floating! Everyone admired them and no one noticed the absence of the Christmas Tree!

Thank you Maria for your lovely story!
